1999
Power Matla (Pty) Ltd (“PM”) an empowerment partner of the Altron group since PM inception acquired a 25.1% shareholding in Desta Power Matla (“DPM”) alongside ABB Powertech Transformers.
2007
Powertech acquired the 50% shareholding that it did not own in its joint venture company ABB Powertech Transformers, from ABB South Africa.
2009
Power Matla and Powertech Transformers (“PTT”) concluded a transaction whereby Power Matla restructured their shareholding in Desta Power Matla by acquiring shares directly in PTT as well as acquiring an additional 3,2% stake in Powertech Transformers.
2010
Power Matla (65%), Epiworx Investments (20%) and Empower a Thousand Holdings (15%) formed a consortium to pursue investment opportunities.
2011
Power Matla led a consortium comprised of Power Matla, Epiworx Investments and Empower a Thousand Holdings that acquired a 25,1% share in Altech UEC.
2017
Power Matla consortium buys a stake in Orion Gold (Australia) after relinquishing their 50% stake in Agama Exploration and Mining (Pty) Ltd.
2017
Altron announces that it has reached an agreement to dispose of its 80% interest in Powertech Transformers Proprietary Limited (Powertech Transformers) to a B-BBEE consortium comprising of Europe’s number one medium-sized manufacturer of transformers, SGB-SMIT, and local black-owned Power Matla Group
