Power Matla’s management team is made up of highly experienced professionals from different backgrounds
Kgathola holds a B. Com in Business Management and Economics and he is the Chief Executive and co-founder of Power Matla (Pty) . As a Non-Executive director, he sits on the board and sub-committees of numerous companies including SGB-SMIT POWER MATLA (Pty) Ltd, Eduvod and Dorper Wind Farm.
Kgathola commands an extensive knowledge of Supply Chain Management at operational and executive level, spanning twenty five (25) years in various companies including, Eskom, SASOL, Transnet, Harmony Gold Mining, Rio Tinto and a former Executive Group Supply Chain Services for Pretoria Portland Cement Company Ltd.
Whilst working for the above-mentioned companies, Kgathola attended numerous Management Development Programmes, Senior Executive Programmes including The ESKOM Graduate Programme In Utility Management 1996) offered by Samford Business Global Utilities Institute and a Certificate In Programme In Leadership Development (2005) by Wits University Graduate School Of Business Administration.
He has been instrumental in the conclusion of business deals for Power Matla. As a result, he was exposed to and work with various corporate finance advisory service providers on Power Matla deals, involving mergers and acquisitions, BBBEE ownership transactions, company valuations, equity and debt capital raising activities.
Tau Oliphant is an Entrepreneurial leader with over 20 years of corporate, business and public sector experience. Since 1997 he has occupied various management positions both in the private and the public sector.
He started his career as an IT Specialist and served as an Assistant Director IT Support and Deputy Director ICT both at the Department of Economic Affairs and Treasury for five years.
Additionally he became an Accounts Manager for Techno Brain responsible for Business Development, then later joined Mazars Advisory as an Executive Director.
Tau is also a professional speaker, executive coach and a thought leader in various subjects. He studied Entrepreneurship with the Cape Peninsula University of Technology and currently pursuing business and legal studies.
He is currently Director Corporate Services and Business Development at Power Matla (Pty) Ltd.
Esther started her career in the accounting profession in 1989. Working as an article clerk, she studied part time towards her BCompt through UNISA. After completion of her articles she joined KPMG. After achieving a manager status at KPMG in the accounting department, Esther managed a portfolio of owner managed businesses.
Esther was seconded to an international client for a year, Electro-Motive Diesel and Locomotive Company (Pty) Ltd, to assist with the day to day running of the accounting department and reporting to the US financial director. She has 24 years accounting experience.
Esther is currently the financial manager for Power Matla (Pty) Ltd.
Audrey achieved her BCom degree in Financial Accounting at the University of Pretoria in 2001 and started her career in the accounting profession as a trainee accountant at Kumba Resources (Exxaro) in 2003. Within Kumba Resources (Exxaro) she gained a great deal of experience, from working as a management accountant at Grootgeluk Mine, a Financial Manager within the treasury department and Taxation and FInancial Officer whilst she completed her articles in 2006. Thereafter she served as Accounting Clerk before leaving Kumba Resources (Exxaro) to join Diro Manganese as Financial Accountant. Audrey has more than 15 years experience.
Audrey joined Power Matla in 2018 as Financial Accountant.
Kholiwe completed her matric in 1999 and did A+ in 2000. She joined the corporate world in 2003, when she started working as a
Receptionist for a sanitation company. She was promoted as the Accounts Clerk and that’s where she started studying part time
towards her Diploma in Financial Accounting. Kholiwe has 14 years’ experience in the accounting field, having worked for 3

Martha Maloka completed her matric in 2006 and thereafter worked as a casual and cashier at the College of Watersrand and
Fruit and Veg in Fourways. Martha completed an office administration course and is currently assisting Power Matla with the office administration and reception.
